At Lake Janis Farm, we’re proud to grow and supply brushed and washed Certified Organic potatoes nurtured in our rich Karri loam soils.
We’ve carefully chosen a few red and cream varieties with creamy yellow flesh, celebrated for their superior flavour and cooking versatility.
Potatoes are part of our family’s story. Dean has been growing them his whole life on our Pemberton farm, and now he’s excited to bring that experience and passion into organic potato farming.
For us, it’s simple: produce should be chosen for its flavour and nutrient density, not superficial appearance.
That’s why every potato we grow reflects our belief in real food, grown with integrity-no chemicals, ever.
Growing potatoes organically has numerous challenges.
Soil borne insects, weed control and adequate nutrition are the major obstacles.
Lake Janis Farm has been developing strategies to overcome these issues to ensure we can supply a quality product, whilst striving for maximum nutrient density.
Instead of using synthetic insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or chemical fertilisers, we’ve had to invest time, patience and research into building resilient biological and regenerative systems for growing potatoes organically.
The "Prince of Orange" is a gourmet potato variety, originating from The Netherlands, known for its smooth red-orange skin and deep yellow flesh it is considered a culinary delight. I
t has a creamy, buttery flavour and a versatile, waxy texture that makes it excellent for boiling, steaming, roasting, frying and salads.
Red skin with deep yellow flesh

Versatile in the kitchen - excellent roasted, mashed or boiled

A truly standout variety, loved for its vibrant colour, unique shape and rich, earthy taste.
A new potato isn’t a variety — it’s about when and how the potato is harvested.
Unlike standard potatoes, which are left in the soil until the plant naturally dies off and the skins harden, new potatoes are hand harvested early in the crop’s life, while the plant is still growing & green.
Because the sugars haven’t yet converted to starch, new potatoes are:
Sweeter, earthier and full of flavour
Creamy and delicate in texture
Naturally low in starch, making them light and versatile
Their skins are soft and immature, meaning they don’t need peeling - just a gentle wash and rub to prepare.
