At Lake Janis Farm in the pristine Southern Forests of Western Australia, we raise 100% grassfed, grass finished Jersey cattle using regenerative farming practices.
Our cattle are pasture-raised year-round, never fed grain, and never confined to feedlots.
Grazing on diverse multi-species pastures - grown without herbicides, insecticides, or glyphosate - they produce nutrient-dense, chemical-free beef that is naturally full of flavour.
By combining regenerative grassfed farming with biological soil health practices, we deliver food that’s better for people, animals, and the land.
Lake Janis Farm Jersey cattle are grassfed and grass finished year-round - with absolutely no grain.
They graze exclusively on multi-species pastures, never in feedlots.
Our diverse pasture mix includes herbs, grasses, brassicas and legumes, providing livestock with a varied and highly nutritious diet.
We never use herbicides, insecticides, fungicides or glyphosate on our pastures.
Our Jersey Cattle are always:
Growth hormone free
Antibiotic free
Drench free
Vaccine free
mRNA vaccine free
Bovaer free
Grazing on diverse multi-species pastures grown without herbicides, insecticides, or glyphosate - Lake Janis Farm jersey cattle produce nutrient-dense, chemical-free beef that is naturally full of flavour.
Our farming system is built on regenerative practices designed to improve soil health, livestock vitality, and the nutrient density of our beef.
We use remineralised fermented compost and biological inputs to restore balance to the soil and enhance productivity naturally.
Our Jersey steers and sheep are high-density grazed on irrigated, multi-species pasture. During the dry months, two large Centre Pivot irrigators draw water from Lake Janis to sustain the pastures.
With 17 paddocks under irrigation, livestock are moved every 2 days, allowing each section time to fully regrow, before animals return to the original paddock.
This rotational system mimics the way wild herbivores graze in nature, bunched together and moved frequently across the plains by predators.
As part of our regenerative farming practices, our Ultrawhite sheep graze alongside our Jersey steers.
This natural partnership creates a balanced grazing system — while the cattle enjoy their preferred grasses, the sheep tidy up what’s left behind — including weeds.
This creates an ecosystem balance as different animals bring different impacts to the soil and pasture, which supports biodiversity and long-term soil fertility.
The result? Pastures are grazed evenly promoting uniform regrowth, which helps maintain a thriving, diverse, nutrient-rich pasture.
Most importantly no herbicides are required as the flock helps manage weeds naturally.
